Adblocker that downloads ads?

Hi,
Are there any adblockers that block ads only after downloading them? I
would prefer a proxy-based solution instead of browser-specific tools
such as Firefox extensions or the like.
It seems that a growing number of websites check whether the ads have
actually been downloaded and then grant/deny access to the requested
page, e.g. http://runob.seclan.be/.
