I've not known any ZA/AVG compatibility problems on 98. I didnt think
ZA would run on 95. Getting AVs to work on 95 does seem to be issue
filled though, and I cant say I've come up with any decent solution.
Its such an old OS that it seems no modern AV supports it, at least not
any that can detect 100% of ITW viruses. Ones that cant do that are of
much less use, since theyre wide open to some itw viri.

Also I would google '98 lite' before installing IE 4 or 5 on 95, IIRC
theyre much fatter than 95's IE3, and do grim things to performance.

Cant be many people running 95 these days, though it still lurks here
and there.
