It is my understanding that the OT was translated into Greek The
Septuagint ("LXX") is the name commonly given in the West to the Koine
Greek Alexandrine text of the Hebrew Bible (Tanakh/Old Testament)
produced some time between the third to first century BC. Manuscript
copies of the Septuagint are the oldest and most important complete
version of the Old Testament and until the discovery of the Dead Sea
Scrolls predated the Hebrew, or Masoretic, manuscripts texts by as much
as 1,000 years..
