Avant Portable ver 11.43 - several comments

I d/l and tried the latest portable version 11.43 but have several
dislikes with it; the main one being the way in which it handles
RSS feeds.

The older non-portable version 10.1.40 which I still use has a menu
button marked 'Feeds' which accesses all my personal RSS feeds.

This button has disappeared on later versions. RSS feeds can now only
be incorporated into Bookmarks as a seperate folder or accessed by
that new wretched left-side-bar which I don't like much. Added
problems are that there seens no way to transfer RSS feeds from the
older version to the new version and the favicons can't be customised
like before. This is possibly due to the different format now used.

The other problem is that although it says that menu bars can all be
customised there seems to be limitations on this which affect me.
Notably I couldn't get the menu items to appear on the same line as
the menu icons like I can under the older version and the menu items
can't be positioned on their line as before.

I'm also not sure if the author has solved the problem of a tab losing
focus or not getting it in the first place - a very irritating issue.

Bottom line: I'll continue using 10.1.40 on my PC and only use the
portable version only if I have a need for its portability.
