In the past I have used the following freeware to record audio streams:

Zinf http://www.zinf.org
XMPlay http://www.un4seen.com/
VLC http://www.videolan.org/

ALSO---

I may be wrong, but I "believe" that the following freeware will
download audio streams too (if someone else could jump in here and
confirm or disconfirm this...)
