I started with working with VirtualDub and SUPER just a few weeks ago
and I am CERTAINLY NOT an expert in either program---but---whenever I
can't open a video in VirtualDub, I just use SUPER to convert that
video to an AVI or an MPEG 1 that VirtualDub DOES open and edit. Then I
do my editing, save the avi in VirtualDub and use SUPER to convert it
to whatever format I require, or back to the original format.
My suggestion may sound convoluted but it has worked everytime so
far...
