even if others state different, there are Sony players that can
be filled with music only through SonicStage (my own HiMD walkman
for example). And hating it is an option ;-)
I don't know a working alternative to SonicStage. One may be on
it's way from Sony itself called "Connect Player". But it is not
available to public yet, I think. Here a japanese page with one
screen shot:
The only tip I would like to give you: Use the most current version
of SonicStage, 3.4, because it gives you the option to work with
mostly no DRM in your ATRAC files.
And maybe you want to use the "MP3 Conversion Tool", but before
installing you need to modify the registry: In "HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
SOFTWARE Sony Corporation SonicStage Shared Library" change/
create String "Version" to value "2.1.5.02.08220".

Most important way to work on a organized conversion from mp3 to
ATRAC for albums and stuff are .m3u playlists, which can be just
simple text files with filenames in order (using relative or
absolute paths). Winamp creates them, too.
