Once every blue moon Freeware

de Susan Bugher 04/08/2006 09:58

This page started me thinking. . .

http://www.wikipov.org/ow.asp?CrossroadsHome
<q>
Crossroads 3D was one of the first converters that could convert 3D
geometry in POV-Ray format. Originally written by Keith Rule, Crossroads
3D is no longer developed (since 1998) and doesn't support more modern
features like UV mapping, unlike PoseRay or 3DWin.

However, besides PoseRay, it's one of the two known applications that
can read POV-Ray triangle geometry (union not mesh) and convert it to
commercial formats like 3DS or OBJ. Also, it supports some very old file
formats, so keeping it nearby can be sometimes useful. Crossroads 3D can
also read the sphere primitive.

What programs do you have that you *seldom* use but might need some day.
What's special about them?
