Graohviz. Will automatically draw graphs given a text file input
describing the nodes and connections. Excellent for producing graphs
of program structure, connections between people or companies or
concepts. The command language is simple, so it's easy to produce
Graphviz command files (dot files) from other programs. For example, I
have several XSLT scripts that have XML files as input, and produce
dot files as output. Run those dot files through the graphviz dot
processor, and I get automatically generated node graphs generated
from my xml file. http://www.graphviz.org/.

Putty - a telnet client, supports ssh encryption. I don't have to do
telnet much any more, but when I do, this does it well.

WGnuplot - a plotting program. It can plot data or equations in
various formats. Flexible, robust. http://www.gnuplot.info.

XMLMarker - an editor for XML files. It has a very cool feature that
extracts fields from common XML nodes, and forms a table, that you can
sort, etc. I have an application that produces log files in XML
format, ant this editor/viewer makes it easy to analyze those log
files. http://symbolclick.com.

BareTail - a file viewer. Derived from the old unix "tail" command,
but much improved. Can open and instantly display very large files.
Can watch for additions to a file and update the display. Can filter
or highlight (different colors) lines based on the contents of the
lines. No install. http://www.baremetalsoft.com/baretail/index.php.
