Just go to Tools>Options>General>Default Browser and check the box.
I created a shortcut to do Windows updates. The shortcut will open the
Windows updates in IE. The updates won't work in Firefox. When you
create the shortcut, put the following in the "Target" (include the
quotes):
"C:Program FilesInternet Exploreriexplore.exe" http://[Windows
Update Site]
Then put the following in the "Start in":
"C:Program FilesInternet Explorer"
