That's much a matter of taste. Some see it as convenient, to others it's
just annoying. Speaking for myself, I'd rather have them tabbed, than as
separate icons in the taskbar...

I'm working on a webbrowser shell myself at the moment, with only three
tabs, and all of them for the *same webpage*, one rendering as IE, one as
Mozilla, one as Opera... ;-)

That's depending on how the resources for the application are allocated.
It's not only IE that's working that way, but e.g. most of the MS products.
When it occurs a fault in the core module, all depending modules have to
shut down too.

On one hand it's a good thing it works that way, as full allocation of every
app would exhaust many machines, on the other hand, when there's a lot of
bugs in the applications... ;-)
